Our team consists of UWC alumni and ocean rowing pioneers, all championing the Challenge and supporting Terence’s safe crossing.
Terence launched the United World Challenge to support the UWC movement’s mission create a more peaceful and sustainable world. Under this banner, Terence is preparing to row solo across the Atlantic Ocean while raising new UWC scholarships. Terence is an avid endurance athlete with over ten years of experience. He’s a two-time Ironman with top-5% finishes, competes in ultramarathons up to 145-miles nonstop, has solo cycle-toured the UK and Ireland, and during college he completed a Nordic ski marathon on borrowed skis after training just a dozen times. Terence thrives by pushing his limits and can’t wait to cross the Atlantic in support of UWC. Originally from the Adirondack Mountains of New York, Terence is a graduate of the UWC of the Adriatic in Italy, where he won a full scholarship to attend from 2004 to 2006. He now lives in Boulder, Colorado and is a Senior Consultant with Deloitte. Terence is an alumni of the World Economic Forum Global Shapers Community. He earned his MBA from London Business School and BA from Macalester College.
Taylor works at Facebook as Content Strategist for Facebook Connectivity. Previously, she was Lead Content Strategist for the International User Experience & Design Team at Alibaba Group in Hangzhou, China, overseeing content marketing and content strategy for 7 markets: Global (English speaking), France, Spain, Brasil, Latin America, Russia and Israel. Taylor attended UWC-USA (02-04) and hails from Warren, Michigan. She holds a BA in English from Dartmouth College.
Jen attended UWCSEA (Singapore) 2001-2006 and hails from Brisbane, Australia. After finishing school she continued on to a volunteer position in Cambodia with other students from UWCSEA, UWC Adriatic and UWC Red Cross Nordic. With a background in digital marketing, advertising and content strategy, she is working to extend the reach of the United World Challenge. Will is a software developer who holds a B.Sc. Honours in Bioinformatics and lives in Calgary where he is the CTO of a proptech startup, RealOffice360, and is the founder of a digital marketing agency, Intermedia Agency. With a background in web development, digital marketing, and data science, Will is helping United World Challenge maximize their digital presence with the right tools and technology.
Gianmarco’s mission is to bring about positive societal change through technology development and conscious entrepreneurship. He uses his engineering, product and marketing skills to foster innovation in Vancouver’s start-up scene and to support environmental and social justice initiatives. Gianmarco is a graduate of UWC Adriatic (Italy, 2006), and holds a Bachelor in Engineering Physics from Simon Fraser University.
Erik is a Managing Director of Deloitte’s Applied Design practice, where he brings over 20 years of experience as an innovation strategist advising Fortune 500 companies on how to grow organically. Erik believes at the heart of true innovation lies a deep understanding of people. To achieve this, paraphrasing Youngme Moon, you need to provide something that is hard to come by, reflect a commitment to a big idea, and be intensely human. This is what Erik strives for in his work. Erik attended Lester B. Pearson UWC of the Pacific in Canada (1982-1984).
Dragos owns a sustainable clothing company called Etrican as well as a boutique digital marketing agency called Black & Green. He also runs the UWC One Peace project, a non-profit initiative creating UWC branded apparel to bring together the community and raise funds for the UWC Refugee Scholarship fund. Dragos will help create and produce sustainable United World Challenge branded apparel, in a planned collaboration between the two fundraising projects. Dragos attended UWCRCN (Norway, 98-00) and volunteers for the UWC Romanian National Committee.
