I’m currently in the Convergence Zone, where the northeasterly and southeasterly trade winds meet, creating a band of clouds or thunderstorms near the equator. This means I’m not getting much solar power, but I’m treated to some wild and beautiful skies. The water cycle around me at the equator is amazing!
As I keep reminding everyone, the beauty of nature is so vast and constantly changing. The sunsets out here in the middle of the Pacific are INCREDIBLE!
With all these clouds, am I still able to use my navigation equipment? Unfortunately, I’ve had to turn off my chart plotter to conserve batteries. But I’ve been doing a little craft project onboard and made a weathervane. Until I get closer to the islands and need to be more precise with my navigation, I’m relying on just my compass and the weathervane. But, hey, it’s just another day on Moderation, rowing to stop plastic before it reaches the ocean.
