Have you ever wondered what my hands look like after a day of rowing in the rain? Well, wonder no more—yikes! My hands got prune-y, but it’s a fair trade-off for the best shower I’ve had in 5 weeks.
The weather cleared for a day, so I took the chance to check on Moderation below the water. Once again, I spotted some gorgeous marlin. I’ve seen quite a few large sport fish, but most mornings, I wake up to find tiny flying fish on my deck. It’s pretty cool to think these little creatures eat the same things as Blue Whales—just in much smaller portions!
Keeping on course requires a lot of careful planning. When I sleep, I must make sure I don’t drift off course. I either drop a pin in my footplate to lock the rudder in place or use some nifty gear ties from NiteIze to help me stay on track. I’ll share more about my sleep routines in another update.
